    General Range

    • About 80 percent of HVAC technicians earn between $11 and $29 an hour.

    Middle Range

    • Narrowing it further, the middle 50 percent of HVAC technicians make between $14 and $23 an hour.

    Education

    • People intending to become HVAC technicians typically acquire education at a technical school or through an apprenticeship. Apprentices usually begin at about half of the rate paid to experienced technicians.
