Divorce Support Group Activities

There are divorce support groups that number in the thousands throughout the United States. Support groups can be helpful with emotional issues, advice about children and offering encouragement. Some of them offer activities like classes, parents' nights out, dating networks and social activities.

  1. Classes

    • Some divorce support groups offer classes and seminars to help you learn about financial management, divorce laws, raising your children and even dating when you are ready for it.

    Parents' Nights Out

    • Divorce support groups often organize parents' nights out, where they arrange for babysitting so that newly divorced moms or dads can get away for an evening to themselves or with a group of other divorcees. It provides them opportunities to go to a movie, bowling or out to dinner without the children.

    Dating Networks

    • Often divorce support groups can connect you with dating network groups so that you can meet other single people who are interested in a new relationship.

    Social Activities

    • Divorce support groups sometimes coordinate social activities like dances, bus trips, picnics or other pleasurable events to provide a chance for single people to meet and mingle.

    Online Groups

    • If you are not ready to attend a support group in person, you can find divorce groups online where you can reach out for help without meeting people face to face.
