What Will Remove Duct Tape Adhesive?

Duct tape is practical and can be used in many different ways. When you use duct tape on household items, it will often leave behind a sticky residue when you remove or replace it. Here are six different tips for removing the adhesive residue from objects after you remove the duct tape.

    Removing Duct Tape from Common Surfaces

  1. Use a washcloth or paper towel soaked with a little vodka to remove duct tape adhesive from items such as windows, walls and doors.
  2. Removing Duct Tape Adhesive from Skin

  3. Either pour rubbing alcohol on the skin or use a wash cloth soaked with rubbing alcohol to remove duct tape adhesive.
  4. Duct Tape on Surfaces such as Floors, Cabinet Doors and Clothing

  5. Use a warm iron without steam to remove duct tape adhesive from flooring, carpet, cabinet doors and clothing.
  6. Use a Heated Straight Edge Razor Blade

  7. On nearly any hard surface, use a heated straight edge razor blade to remove duct tape residue.
  8. Bleach Away Duct Tape Adhesive

  9. Except for clothing, a little bleach may be used to remove duct tape adhesive from many surfaces. Boil the bleach and use a washcloth soaked in bleach to remove duct tape build up from surfaces.
  10. Use Rust Remover

  11. Spray a little rust remover on the adhesive. Let the rust remover set for 5 to 10 minutes before wiping it away.
