Global positioning systems (GPS) have come a long way, in both technology and price. GPS navigation systems are affordable and readily available to purchase. Planning a vacation or a road trip has gotten easier with a GPS, and use of it has several benefits for a family.

    Determine Location Distance

  1. Planning a road trip is easy with a GPS because the device can determine the distance from starting location to destination, telling a user exactly how much time should be planned for reaching a desired destination.
  2. GPS aves Money

  3. A GPS can save a family money because no paper maps are required, one for every state, location or driving area.
  4. GPS is Portable

  5. GPS navigation systems available on the market today are portable, and can be used outside of vehicles for locating restaurants, points of interest or can be transferred for use between family vehicles.
  6. Re-Routing

  7. A GPS does not allow a traveler to get lost. A missed turn is corrected by re-routing the driver to an alternate route to reach the desired destination.
  8. Locate Family Attractions

  9. A GPS helps locate family favorites such as restaurants, malls, parks and movie theaters. In case of emergencies, a GPS can direct the driver to the nearest hospital.
