Venus flytraps are interesting plants to grow for gardening enthusiasts. A Venus flytrap is a carnivorous plant that prays on small insects and bugs. An outdoor Venus flytrap can feed itself and catch its own insects. Growing a Venus flytrap indoors means having to feed it a proper diet by providing insects for your plant.

    Proper Watering

  1. Clean or distilled water is very important for the health of a Venus flytrap, therefore for watering, distilled water should always be used. Extra calcium and chlorine in tap water can build up on plant soil and eventually kill a Venus flytrap.
  2. Types

  3. Venus flytraps eat only small insects and bugs. Small larvae can also be eaten by these plants.
  4. Fun Fact

  5. Insects and bugs that Venus Flytraps can eat include hornets, wasps, different types of small flies, small spiders, centipedes, moths, grand-daddy long legs and earwigs.
  6. Warning

  7. Human food or pieces of it should never be fed to a Venus flytrap plant. Feeding them human food will kill Venus flytraps.
  8. Providing Food Indoors

  9. Feeding an indoor Venus flytrap can be done by killing an insect beforehand or feeding it live insects.
