Who Is the Highest Paid Actor in Hollywood?

Every year Forbes Magazine ranks the highest paid actors and actresses in Hollywood based on their earnings from the previous year. In the last ranking, from June 2007 to June 2008, Will Smith claimed the top spot leaving his fellow nominees in the dust.

2007-2008

During this time, Smith made $80 million, ranking him at No. 1. The second place actor was Johnny Depp who took home $72 million.

Record Breaking

Smith is also the first actor to have eight consecutive movies surpass $100 million at the box office ("Hancock," "I Am Legend," "The Pursuit of Happyness," "Hitch," "Shark Tale," "I Robot," "Bad Boys II" and "Men in Black II").

Early Days

Smith is best known for starting on the "Fresh Prince of BelAir," which aired during the '90s. He also had a short-lived career as a singer and produced hits such as "Miami" and "Summertime."

Power Family

With his wife, Jada Pickett Smith, and their son, Jaden, also starring in movies, the Smith family is one of the strongest and most successful acting families. Smith alone has taken in more than $4 billion at the box office.

Smith's most recent film "Seven Pounds," which grossed a modest $69.9 million, is currently on DVD.
