Foods That Cause Gout

Gout is caused by the crystallization of uric acid in the body. Uric acid is usually filtered by your kidneys, but sometimes too much uric acid can build up or your body may make too much of it. Foods that are high in purines are to be avoided, as your body turns purines into uric acid. Typically, a healthy diet will relieve the symptoms of gout.
