About Elliptical Training Machines

Elliptical training machines are low-impact aerobic exercise machines that are available in most commercial gyms. Elliptical training machines also are available in a variety of sizes and with a slew of optional features for home use. An elliptical trainer provides a complete body workout, bringing the arms, legs and core into the exercise. Combined with weight training, an elliptical machine can serve as a complete workout option.

    Resistance

  1. Select an elliptical trainer that has adjustable resistance settings to increase muscle production.
  2. Weight

  3. Elliptical trainers are ideal weight reduction exercise machines, because they incorporate more muscles than most other pieces of exercise equipment.
  4. Joints

  5. Use elliptical trainers if you are experiencing joint pain or are recovering from a joint injury. Your feet never leave the footpads, reducing the impact on fragile knee, hip and ankle joints.
  6. Cardio

  7. Receive a thorough cardiovascular workout by maintaining a steady pace on an elliptical machine.
  8. Computers

  9. Many elliptical training machines come with built-in computers that can set a workout for various fitness levels and record time, calories burned and heart rate.
  10. Space

  11. Find an elliptical training machine that fits in your space. Look for a folding elliptical machine if space is unavailable to leave the equipment set up at all times.
