Who Owns Zoom Airlines?

Zoom Airlines was a Canadian Trans-Atlantic Airline owned by Hugh Boyle. After its bankruptcy, it was bought by Globe Span Partners, who intend on relaunching the airline in 2009.

  1. Founding

    • Zoom Airlines was founded in 2002 and was based in the capitol city of Ottawa. Its business model was to fill a niche in the trans-Atlantic leisure market by flying Canadian tourists to European destinations.

    • The original founders were two Scottish brothers, Hugh and John Boyle. The brothers had previously started and sold two travel companies in the UK.

    • In August, 2008, Zoom Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection.

    New Owners and New Name

    • In January, 2009 Globe Span Capital announced it acquired Zoom Airlines. In March 2009, Zoom relaunched as XPO Airlines; however, it has yet to recommence flight operations.
