Skin Cancer Melanoma Symptoms

Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that occurs in the cells of the outer skin layer that produce pigment (melanin). Most melanomas grow from moles on the surface of the skin, and symptoms of melanoma include changes or new moles that develop suddenly and look different from the usual moles that you have.
