Las Vegas Rules for Blackjack
Blackjack is a fun game that is popular in the casinos in Las Vegas. Before you settle in to the nearest black jack table, there are some basic rules for playing blackjack in Las Vegas that differ from how you may have played in other arenas.
-
Number of Decks
-
In Las Vegas, most regular blackjack games are played using two decks.
Exchanging money and chips
-
In most Las Vegas casinos, you cannot put money or chips in a dealer's hand. You must place it on the table so they can pick it up. This ensures that no one is sneaking the dealer money.
-
Placing Wagers
-
Before the dealer deals you in, you must place a wager in the circle on the table. If you have not, then you are dealt out of the hand.
Cell Phones
-
You cannot play blackjack while speaking on a cell phone in most casinos in Las Vegas. This ensures that no one is cheating.
Dealer Hit
-
A dealer must hit on less then a "soft 17." This means that if the dealer's card total is 17, but is made up of cards that don't include an ace, then he must draw another card. This increases the dealer's chances of busting.
