Army Dependent Benefits
The Army recognizes that dependents are an integral part of the success of its service members. With programs to assist dependents of all ages while members are deployed or away for school, the Army prefers families to educate themselves about these benefits and become more independent.

Dependents can attend community colleges in most states absolutely free using the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Army Degree program.
Tricare

Tricare provides all health care free of charge for military families, depending on the program being used.
Legal

The Judicial Advocate General's Office can assist in court, legal issues and wills, with all advice free and confidential.
Housing

Military installations provide housing for dependents, covering rent and utilities.
Travel

Dependents can travel CONUS and OCONUS free or with minimal charges to the service member. Army dependents can only fly alone when the member is deployed or during emergency.

American Emergency Relief provides interest free loans, money for emergency food, shelter and medical expenses.
