Astral Projection for Beginners

Astral projection, also known as "out of body experiences," is when the soul, or consciousness, leaves the body. While this idea scares some people, a few people believe that astral projection is actually quite common; we do it in our sleep naturally, and slip back into our bodies without ever knowing it. Follow these tips to practice astral projection.

  1. Meditate

    • Learning to meditate is the key to learning how to intentionally astral project. You have to be able to put your body to sleep, but keep your mind awake and in a semi-trance state. Practicing meditation will help you achieve the optimal state at will.

    Ambiance

    • When planning to astral project, go somewhere comfortable and peaceful where you will not be disturbed. Turn off your phone and dim the lights. Subtle candles, incense or soft music can help you relax, but should be very subtle so as not to distract you.

    Fear

    • One of the biggest inhibitors of intentional astral projection is fear. You may worry that if your soul leaves your body, it may not be able to find its way back. Remember that this is not true, as you have astral projected before, unintentionally, in your sleep.

    Intention

    • One way to help prompt yourself to begin astral projecting is to tell yourself that this is what you want to do. Making a few affirmations before you begin meditating will help put your mind in a mode so that it is ready to go.

    Projecting

    • Once you are prepared and comfortable with astral projection, and in a trance state, you're ready to attempt to leave your body. Try to rise up out of it, or slip out sideways, or even sink out of it. You can visualize this with your mind, or simply look for that feeling of when you free yourself. This takes practice and is different for everyone, so keep trying.

    Returning

    • Any time you are ready to return to your body, know that you can do so immediately just by thinking of it, or by willing yourself to wiggle your toes or open your eyes. Awareness of the physical body will suck you right into it.

Great article! Though I like Robert Bruce's take on Astral Projection- that the soul doesn't actually *leave* the body... just your consciousness projects to a higher plane. Got any articles on how to induce a trance state? I could really use advice. Will check you out~ To Nautical: you're ridiculous.

I respect your opinion; however I don't share it. I do not know astral projection to be demonic or lead to possession, as in my 18 years of experience this has never been the case. Like other E-How writers, I am simply sharing my knowledge and experience. If you feel astral projection is something negative, then you have the option not to practice it.

astral projection is demonic and leads to demon possession. But of course you know that already what I want to know is why would you make it so others can be affected by this.
