Acupressure Points for Pregnancy

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese technique based on the fundamentals of acupuncture. It can help women deal with some of the bothersome issues of pregnancy, such as morning sickness, swelling, indigestion and headaches.

  1. Inner Gate Pressure Points

    • The inner gate pressure points are located in the middle of the inner side of the forearm, roughly 2 to 3 inches below the crease of the wrist. These points help pregnant women get rid of the effects of morning sickness and indigestion.

    Sea of Vitality Pressure Points

    • These pressure points are located 1 to 3 inches away from the spine, on both sides, at waist level. They help to relieve backaches and fatigue that a pregnant woman experiences.

    The Third Eye Pressure Point

    • The pressure point known as the third eye is located between the eyebrows, where the bridge of the nose and forehead meet. By stimulating this area, headaches should go away, as should some minor allergy symptoms.

    The Heavenly Pillar Pressure Point

    • Located 1/2 inch below the base of the skull, the heavenly pillar point helps pregnant women find relief from insomnia, stress and nasal congestion.

The Womb and Vitals Pressure Points

    • Many women experience hip and back pain and constipation with pregnancy. By applying pressure to these points, which are located 1 to 3 inches outside the sacrum (the bony area at the base of the spine) and halfway between the top of the gluteus maximus and the top of the hip bone, these conditions may very well become a thing of the past.
