About Gas Tiki Torches

There are liquid and gas tiki torches. Propane is the preferable choice of many because they do not smoke and last for a very long time. The demand also makes them less expensive. They are also a viable option for green planet advocates because they use natural gas instead of fossil fuels. A third option, the flameless, soaks up natural sunlight all day, then glows brightly at night without the use of any fuels or electricity. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Materials

    • Most are made of bamboo, but other materials used to make them are copper, steel and aluminum. The wicks are usually made of cotton or fiberglass.

    uses

    • Tiki torches are used to provide exterior lighting in yards, gardens and on patios, and to help keep the bugs away, especially when you are having outdoor evening parties with plenty of guests and open food containers.

    Fuels

    • Do not use any fuel that is not made specifically for tiki torches. To use these safely, remember to fill only about two-thirds full, and make sure the torch lid is on tightly and that the wick is soaked before lighting.

    Citronella Oil

    • Citronella oil is the most commonly used torch fuel. It is a healthy and fragrant grass oil from Asia that is inexpensive and comes in plastic containers, which should be stored in dark, cool, airtight spaces.

    Outdoor Atmosphere

    • When you want to use one near a beautiful tree or fruit/garden patch, its best to use the solar brands. The gas torches are a good accompaniment to light up and emphasize a deck, patio, pond, pool or a walking path to a door.
