Facts About the London Eye
The London Eye provides a massive Ferris Wheel experience to view London's skyline and beyond. Run by British Airways and created for the millennium celebration, the London Eye provides a great way to get an overview of London's many beautiful attractions, including Big Ben and the House of Parliament.

Tickets for a "flight" on the London Eye are available online at LondonEye.com or at the base of the Eye itself. If you book online, you purchase for a specific day and time. Be aware though that it does sell out during peak tourist season. Tickets are under $30 for adults and about $25 for children. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult; children under 4 are free.

As the Eye wends its way upward, you're seated in a capsule with a minimum of three people and a maximum of 25. The flight takes about 30 minutes.

Private Capsules

You can rent a capsule to celebrate a special occasion, celebrate a child's birthday, get a makeover during the flight with makeup artists or have champagne and hors d'ouevres for up to 25 guests. Costs vary according to the rental, but range from $600 to $1,500.
Getting There

Take the Underground to the Waterloo, Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster stations. Waterloo is the closes station, about five minutes' walk from the station to the Eye. From Embankment and Charing Cross, cross over the Hungerford Bridge. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Eye. From Westminster, follow the signs leading to the Westminster Pier.

You'll need to pass through security to get on the Eye. You can take small bags and briefcases on the Eye after inspection. Large bags are not allowed. Strollers must be laid completely flat before being placed on the capsule.
