Tools Needed to Replace a Toilet Seat

Measuring

Before purchasing a new seat begin by measuring the existing seat with a measuring tape. The two basic sizes include round (16 inches), or elongated (18 inches).
Screw Driver

A screw driver will be needed to pry open the bolt caps.

Adjustable Wrench

Using the screw driver, turn the bolt while securing the nut with the wrench.
Scrub Pad

Lift off the old seat and clean the area with the scrub pad. There will typically be some debris around the mounting holes.
Install

Using the above tools the new seat is now ready to be installed.
