Essiac was named by Rene Caisse by reversing her last name. She came upon this remedy through the Canadian Oijbway Indians. The herbs used are burdock root, slippery elm, Indian rhubarb root and sheep sorrel.
Chinese Herbs

There are several types of Chinese herbs used to treat cancer in different organs. The traditional herbs used strengthen the immune system, these include wu jia pi, huang qi, nu zhen zi, dang shen, ling zh i, jiao gu lan, he shou wu, sang shen, bai zhu, and wu wei zi.
