Model Airplane Building Supplies

Building models is a terrific hobby, and one of the more popular forms of models are airplanes. Airplanes models placed around the home will be admired by house guests for years to come. Here are some of the supplies involved in this hobby.

Glue

For wood models, purchase good quality wood glue. For plastic, do not go cheap, but purchase heavy-duty glue designed for thick plastic.

Exacto Knife

Exacto knives are small blades that are a hybrid between a pocket knife and razor blade. They are terrific for cutting light plastic parts.

Tweezers

When building any kind of model, you are going to deal with many small pieces. Tweezers are the perfect hand tool for picking up and handling small parts.

Sanders

Sanders make wood smooth after you have finished attaching all the pieces. Sand down the base so it's nice and smooth. Sanders can also work for some plastic parts, although they should be smooth already.

Paint

A model is never finished without paint. Grab a few tiny brushes and different hand paints designed for plastic or wood.
