Acne can appear in many forms, and one of the most stubborn is the blackhead. Blackheads are clogged pores that are composed of oxidized plugs of hardened skin oils. The oxidation turns the oils to a brownish color, which appears black on the skin--thus the term "blackhead". Although there are many topical medicines for blackheads and acne, they can sometimes irritate the skin and cause allergic reactions. Luckily, there are a few natural home remedies for removing blackheads. Here are a few of the best.

    Loop Extractor

  1. You can purchase a loop extractor from any beauty supply store. It is specially designed to expel the blackhead by pushing it out without causing skin damage.
  2. Blackhead Removal Strips

  3. Blackhead removal strips can be found at any Target or Walmart. They are easy to use: You simply wet the back of the strip, press it onto the affected area and peel away the strip. The blackheads come away with the strip.
  4. Microfiber Cloths

  5. Microfiber cloths, when wet, can be gently swiped across the surface of the skin to remove blackheads. The tiny fibers grip the blackheads and pull them out.
  6. Tea Tree Oil

  7. Tea tree oil can reduce the amount of blackheads that appear. As a powerful anti-fungal, tea tree oil kills the bacteria and helps close the pores of the skin.
  8. Baking Soda

  9. Baking soda can be used as a gentle exfoliator to tighten and close the pores after washing the skin. Smaller pores equals fewer blackheads.
