Heredity and environmental factors are common causes for dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. For many people, dark eye circles make them anxious and self-conscious about their appearance. Countless creams and ointments claim to cure the dark eye circles, but home remedies are often your best bet since they are cheaper and easier to get.

    Sleep

  1. Dark eye circles can be the first sign of fatigue and sleep deprivation. Try to take a nap or get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.
  2. Drink More Water

  3. Water cleanses the body of impurities. Make sure you are getting the recommended 8 to 10 glasses daily.
  4. Vitamin E

  5. Dab sparingly under your eyes for reduced puffiness and circles. Oil from a bottle or a capsule will work.
  6. Cucumbers

  7. Cucumbers can cool and refresh the under eye skin. Lay down and apply a slice over each eye for 5 to 10 minutes.
  8. Tea Bags

  9. Black, green, white and chamomile teas are recommended over other herbal varieties. Place a used, dry, cold tea bag over the eyes for 10 minutes.
  10. Diet

  11. Dark under eye circles can be a sign of poor nutrition. Quitting smoking and eating more fruits and vegetables can work wonders.
  12. Yoga

  13. Some inverted poses such as a shoulder stand and a handstand are said to help treat dark eye circles by increasing blood circulation in the face.
