There are many kinds of makeup on the market, but what if you want something natural and healthy for you, but without the cost? Why not make your own. It's easy, more affordable and customized just for you.

    Significance

  1. Making your own makeup is not only easy on your pocketbook, but can be a better alternative than those expensive store-bought makeup.
  2. Lip Gloss

  3. Take an inexpensive petroleum jelly and mix with a sugar free, presweetened Kool-Aid. Strawberry-Kiwi Kool-Aid makes a nice light color, or you can choose Cherry Kool-Aid, which will produce a darker color. When the lip-gloss is mixed well, store in a plastic container with a lid.
  4. Eye Shadow

  5. For eye shadow, you will need to purchase mica, which is easiest to find on the Internet. Pick your main hue and add a scoop to a resealable bag. If you want a two-tone shadow, like blue-green, then add a scoop of that to the bag. To make eye shadow darker or lighter, add either black or white mica to the bag and mix. Once you mix the shadow, store it in a container with a lid.
  6. Lip Balm

  7. You will need 1/3 cup of sesame oil, 1/3 cup grated beeswax, 1 teaspoon of honey, and five drops of essential peppermint oil. In a double boiler over low heat, melt the first three items. Once melted, add the peppermint oil. Remove from heat and stir until thick. Once it thickens, pour it into containers with lids.
  8. Foundation Powder

  9. To make this healthy powder, you will need 3 tablespoons rice powder, a half cup orrisroot, and 1 1/2 cups of lavender flowers. Pour all ingredients into a sterile jar and shake well. Store the jar in a cool, dry place. For the next two weeks, you will need to shake the jar daily. After two weeks, pour the powder into a makeup jar, being careful not to crush the lavender flowers. Apply using a makeup brush.
