Types

Function

The purpose of a wireless card is to connect a computer to the Internet without the use of Ethernet cables or USB cords. Wireless signals in the air are picked up with the wireless card; this is also called Wi-Fi access.

Features

Many Linksys wireless cards, like models Wireless-N PCI and Wireless N-USB, share common features, such as WPA-2 encryption. This feature is used to provide privacy and protection while connected to the Internet.

Benefits and Disadvantages

Linksys wireless cards allow more mobility than wired connections. However, protection is compromised when accessing the Internet through a wireless card, as this type of connection is far less secure and could compromise the safety of your computer.
