Micro braids, sometimes referred to as invisible braids, are very tiny braids. These braids are braided from the scalp to a certain point and then left unbraided on the ends. Hair extensions are usually required to extend the hair while braiding to your desired length.

    About Micro Braids

  1. Micro braids can vary in size and length. They can be styled in many different ways to fit an individual's personal style. Hair extensions can be found at beauty supply stores, or the braider may supply them for a price.
  2. Combining the Braids

  3. Micro braids can be combined with other types of braids, or they can be beautifully designed by combining only the small braids (micro braids). These braids can be combined with corn rows in any type of style. Micro braids can even be braided again into corn rows to create a different look.
  4. Time Frame

  5. These braids usually take between 4 to 10 hours to complete, depending on the number of people doing the braiding. Whenever there are two people braiding continually on an individual's hair, braiding usually takes between 4 to 6 hours to complete, depending on the size of the braids. The smaller the braid, the longer the process will take.
  6. Before Getting Braids

  7. Make sure your hair is clean and healthy. Try to wash your hair thoroughly and condition it before getting braids. Longer hair tends to break more easily than shorter hair when interwoven into micro braids.
  8. Type of Hair to Choose

  9. Try to choose human hair for your hair extensions. Human hair can be colored, curled with a curling iron and is very easy to manage. Micro braids can be left in for a maximum of 3 months with the proper care.
