Pressure Points for Toothaches

There are several pressure points that have been known to relieve pain associated with toothaches. These pressure points have been used for centuries with success before the invention of modern pain medications. All pressure points should be pressed with gradual gentle pressure. Abrupt and hard pressing of pressure points can lead to intense pain or injury.

  1. Cheek Pressure Point

    • Run your finger along the bottom of your cheek bone. Stop when you are directly below your eye. Press this pressure point up and in against the cheek bone. There is one on each side of your face.

    Ear Pressure Point

    • Place a finger in front of your ear hole. Open your mouth and notice the indentation that forms. Apply gentle pressure to the hole. It will hurt but it will take the sting out of your toothache.

    Under Ear Pressure Point

    • Move your finger to behind your ear lobe. Open your mouth and find the indentation that forms directly under your ear. Your finger should be pressed right up against the bottom of your ear. Press carefully up and in.

    Jaw Pressure Point

    • Follow the underside of your jaw until it is directly underneath the corner of your eye. Find the pressure point on the inside and underneath your jaw bone. Apply pressure toward the jaw bone.

    Achilles Tendon

    • The Achilles tendon is the ridgelike formation running between your heel and calf. Apply pressure on both sides of the Achilles tendon in the depression between the ridge and ankle bone.
