Difference Between Real & Fake Coach Purses
Coach purses can be spotted on the arms of many trendsetters. Though they are relatively inexpensive compared to other designer bags, there are many counterfeit versions for sale all around the world. Coach wants consumers to be aware of the impact that fake bags have on the workers who make them and the economy in general. These clues will help you determine if the bag you're looking at is real or fake. Does this Spark an idea?

Signature Bags
-
The Signature pattern will have aligning "C"s, and the tips of the facing "C"s will touch. Also, the pattern will line up so that it repeats evenly.
Lettering
-
Fake bags will sometimes use the letter "G" instead of the letter "C".
-
Serial Number
-
The creed patch (similar to a label) on the inside of the bag should have a serial number stamped on it. The number should be embossed into the patch, and is usually made up of letters and numbers.
Zipper
-
The metal zipper pull should have the letters "YKK" engraved on it. This engraving may be very tiny, but it is one sign of an authentic bag.
Country of Origin
-
Coach makes bags in China, but it does not make bags in Thailand or Korea.
Lining
-
Signature pattern bags will have a solid lining. Bags that do not have "C"s on the outside will have it on the lining.
Where to Buy
-
Genuine Coach products are only sold in Coach retail and outlet stores, the Coach website and catalog, authorized department and specialty stores and certain duty-free stores. Bags sold on the street or at purse parties are counterfeit.

Additionally, you can tell by the stiching, the weight of the metal or cloth tag on the strap, and how the straps are put together. If the plastic starts to peel or feels rubbery, it is a fake. The straps/handles are not weighty but feel fairly significant. A fake bag, the straps are very lightweight and can almost "feel" cheap. Another thing is the weight of the bag itself. My real Coaches are, again, not heavy but solid. My fake Coaches are so light that without anything in them, I would barely notice it was there. That is a quality point. Fakes break and fall apart easily but the stiching and qualities materials on a real Coach make it more solid.
