    • Nitro Snowboards was started by two snowboarders that wanted to bring snowboarding gear to a market that lacked quality goods. The company opened their doors in Seattle, Washington in 1990.

    • Nitro snowboards come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Their snowboard product line includes the Prolight, Blacklight, Wiig, Eero, Misfit, T1, T2, Team, Magnum, Volume, Ripper, Pantera, Slash and Shield. Nitro snowboards are available in men's, women's, youth and kids' models.

    • The snowboards are engineered to provide strength and optimal feel and flex. The materials are also constructed to allow snowboarders to turn effortlessly, disperse energy and reduce swing weight.

    Identification

    • All of the Nitro snowboard models are rated based upon a terrain and style system. The four categories are street park, park all terrain, all terrain and mountain. The scores can be classified as perfect, good or descent for each of the categories.

    Goals

    • According to the company, the goal of Nitro Snowboards is "to progress the sport with products that are innovative in technology, design and materials, always pushing the limits." Many breakthrough and cutting edge designs, such as the asymmetrical twin-tip and progressive side cuts, are innovations of the company.

    • Nitro Snowboards has a team of professional snowboarders that are sponsored by the company. The team consists of both national and international team members with representatives from several countries making up the European, North American and International teams. In addition, Nitro has a global team consisting of 10 professional riders.

    Products

    • In addition to snowboards, Nitro also sells snowboard boots and bindings, outerwear, gloves, bags and apparel. Nitro's snowboard binding division is known as the Raiden Binding division and the company's clothing line is branded as L117.
