Pneumonia Shot Symptoms

Pneumonia shots can be helpful in preventing vulnerable people from catching pneumonia. This shot can be helpful for people with diabetes, people with HIV, the elderly, or children under the age of 2. The pneumonia vaccine does have side effects that can happen after inoculation.

  1. Pain

    • Pain can happen where the shot was given, usually on the arm.

    Fever

    • Fever can happen after receiving the pneumonia vaccine. If the fever spikes over 104 degrees or lasts more than 3 days, consult your doctor.

    Aching

    • Aching muscles and joints can be a side effect of receiving the pneumonia shot.

    Rash or Hives

    • Some people experience an allergic reaction from getting the pneumonia shot. This can range from a mild rash to severe hives. Seek medical attention right away if you have a skin reaction from the pneumonia shot.

    Difficulty Breathing

    • If you experience any difficulty breathing after receiving the pneumonia short, seek medical help. This can be a fatal allergic reaction that needs attention immediately.
