Home Remedies for Oily Skin
Oily skin can lead to acne and can make it difficult to wear makeup for long periods of time. Oily skin can also be an embarrassing condition that people may comment on, and can be difficult to treat without using harsh chemicals that disrupt the fragile layers of the skin. Luckily, there are natural home remedies to treat oily skin that not only soothe and heal it, but will regulate its oil production.
-
Baking Soda
-
Massaging a little bit of baking soda mixed with water onto your skin once a day will significantly reduce the oily texture of the skin. Make sure to rinse well.
Facial Steam
-
Giving yourself a facial steam twice a week can regulate the oil production in the skin. Simply fill a bowl with boiling water and lower your face no closer than 12 inches above the bowl. Cover your head with a towel and steam for about 10 minutes. Splash with cool water when you are finished steaming.

Eat Flaxseed Oil
-
Eating flaxseed oil will nourish and moisturize the organs and digestive system of the body. Rich in the Omega fatty acids, flaxseed oil will regulate the oil production in the skin when taken internally--1 tbsp. daily.
Exercise
-
Exercising makes you sweat, which clears the skin's pores. Exercising daily will decrease the amount of oil secreted on the face.
Lemon Juice
-
Use lemon juice to tone the skin after washing the face. This not only makes a great astringent, but the vitamin C in the lemon juice fights free radicals and regulates the oil production on the face.
