Course Requirements for a Rad Technician
A radiologic ("rad") technician operates medical imaging machinery, such as CAT scans, MRIs and ultrasound. This technician is not required to have a bachelor's degree to gain employment. However, most technicians receive training from an accredited radiology program. These programs, which last from one to four years, require students to complete general science and mathematics-based courses. They also require courses in radiation and medical imaging, including practical training at hospitals.
