- Go to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website to find an inspection location near you. The link is listed in Resources.
- Have your car seat inspected before you have your baby. After one year, once you have moved into a forward facing car seat, have the car seat re-inspected.
- Look for safety fairs sponsored by local fire departments or cities. Some will do on-site inspections without appointments.
- If you have a large group of parents that would like inspections, call your local car seat inspection installation to see if they will come out to your group.
- Most child car seat inspection technicians will tell you they rarely find a car seat installed correctly. Even if your car seat is installed correctly, if you don't buckle your child in, it is useless. Buckle it up every time.
