When

Have your car seat inspected before you have your baby. After one year, once you have moved into a forward facing car seat, have the car seat re-inspected.

Where

Look for safety fairs sponsored by local fire departments or cities. Some will do on-site inspections without appointments.

If you have a large group of parents that would like inspections, call your local car seat inspection installation to see if they will come out to your group.

Warnings

Most child car seat inspection technicians will tell you they rarely find a car seat installed correctly. Even if your car seat is installed correctly, if you don't buckle your child in, it is useless. Buckle it up every time.
