Pneumonia Lung Symptoms

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs as a result of bacteria or a virus. Most of the time, a person will have been sick in some way prior to infection. This is mostly due to the health of the lungs. When you have been sick, the lungs will be far more susceptible to germs. While most people know that you will usually have some sort of fever, chills, nausea and fatigue while dealing with pneumonia, there are other symptoms that pretty much revolve around the lungs.

  1. Cough

    • No matter who you are, you will have the symptom of a cough while dealing with pneumonia. This won't be a dry cough, but one that actually produces either greenish or yellowish mucus.

    Shortness of Breath

    • Since this viral or bacterial infection is isolated to the lungs, you'll most likely experience a certain amount of shortness of breath.

    Rapid Breathing

    • Some people suffering from pneumonia may begin to experience a change in their breathing where they see an increase in breath, more rapid than normal.

    Chest Pain

    • Many people who are dealing with pneumonia will also suffer from some chest pain. This is mostly due to the cough that is common with this infection.

    Wheezing

    • Depending on the severity of the condition, some people have been known to experience the symptom of wheezing after they have contracted the illness.
