Lipitor Atorvastatin Side Effects

Lipitor Atorvastatin, commonly referred as Lipitor, is a medication prescribed to help lower or maintain LDL and total cholesterol levels. Its main active ingredient is atorvastatin calcium, and it is a product of Pfizer pharmaceuticals. Lipitor is a tablet that is taken daily and can help reduce the risk of heart disease, heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular conditions. It may be taken on either a temporary or long-term basis.

  1. Increased Flatulence

    • A characteristic side effect of Lipitor is increased flatulence. The odor of flatulence may also become more noticeable.

    Digestive Symptoms

    • Gastrointestinal discomfort, such as nausea, abdominal cramping and diarrhea, has been reported as a side effect of Lipitor.

    Upper Body Rash

    • Some users experience a rash on their torso and arms while taking Lipitor. The rash may be red and itchy. However, it will clear up with treatment.

    Headaches and Migraines

    • Headache has been reported as a side effect while taking Lipitor, and individuals who are genetically predisposed to migraines may experience more frequent episodes.

    Muscle Soreness

    • Another side effect of Lipitor is muscle stiffness.
