Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a gradual disease that mostly affects people between the ages of 20 and 40. The body's immune system destroys the nerves, resulting in varied symptoms among patients. These symptoms may not be recognize initially, because the symptoms can come and go. Here are some symptoms that may indicate an onset of MS.

  1. Fatigue

    • Fatigue is the most common symptom. It usually occurs in mid-afternoon and may result in muscle and mental fatigue.

    Dizziness

    • The person may feel dizzy or lightheaded. Sometimes the surroundings will seem to spin.

    Sensations

    • Typical sensations are tingles, numbness, itching and burning. Some patients experience a "pins and needles" sensation.

    Balance

    • Difficulty walking may occur because of muscle weakness. Some experience numbness in their feet, or weakness in one limb. A foot may drag.

    Vision

    • Visual symptoms are common in MS. It may result in blurred vision, double vision or loss of color vision.
