Multiple Sclerosis is a debilitating disease that eats away at the sheaths of the nerves causing deterioration. Because the central nervous system is affected, the symptoms of MS vary in individuals. Usual symptoms include vision problems, difficulty walking and difficulty speaking. For some, the symptoms may be uncommon, however.

  1. Trigeminal Neuralgia

    • Trigeminal Neuralgia is facial pain caused by MS. This is intense pain, which feels like an electric shock to the face. It usually lasts for several minutes.

    Bladder

    • Bladder spasticity can cause incontinence. The bladder may not empty completely resulting in urinary infections.

    Lhermette's Syndrome

    • Lhermette's Syndrome causes tingling down the spine when the patient bends.

    Sexual

    • Some individuals with MS have nerve damage, which will affect sexual arousal and orgasm.

    Uhthoff's Syndrome

    • Some MS patients, exposed to high temperatures or over heated from exercise, experience blurred vision. This is called Uhthoff's Syndrome.
