Although this brand of makeup is known as MAC, the product is actually called Makeup Art Cosmetics. They were originally designed to help makeup artists and fashion photographers create visuals for professional photo shoots.
Founding

Frank Angelo, who owned a chain of salons, and fashion photographer Frank Toskan created MAC beauty tools in Toronto in 1985. In 1994, the Estee Lauder Companies acquired a controlling interest in MAC, eventually taking over the company completely in 1998.
