The Dodge company has been an automaker since 1900. Better known for their trucks, they once had a strong SUV contender in the form of the Ramcharger. Now their SUVs are not as popular, and the Nitro was ranked as one of the worst cars in America by Consumer Reports.

    Past Dodge SUVs

    • The classic Dodge SUV was the Ramcharger, manufactured between 1974 and 1993. They also briefly imported a Mitsubishi-built SUV and sold it as their own in the late 1980s.

    The Durango

      The Durango is the main Dodge SUV, starting at $28,980. It is a full size SUV with an automatic transmission, either a V-6 or V-8 engine. There are both conventional and hybrid versions are available.

    The Journey

      The Journey is a mid-sized cross-over wagon. It starts at $21,300, has an automatic transmission and usually comes with a V-6 engine.

    The Nitro

    • A Nitro

      The Nitro is a compact SUV. It starts at $22.650, shares some features with the Jeep Liberty, comes with either manual or automatic transmission, and the typical engine is a V-6.
