Magazines for Children

There are more than 60 magazines published for children. Some are especially for boys, some are for girls and there are even magazines for babies and toddlers.

  1. Outdoor Titles

    • For children interested in the outdoors, magazines like "Ranger Rick," "Ask," and "Your Big Backyard" fit the bill. "Ranger Rick" and "Ask" are directed at children 7 years old and older while "Your Big Backyard" is for ages 3 to 7.

    Magazines for Girls

    • "American Girl" and "Discovery Girls" are recommended for girls aged 8 and up. Both feature advice, quizzes, contests and articles for preteen girls.

    Magazines for Boys

    • "Boys' Life" is for boys ages 7 to 18 and "Boys' Quest" is for ages 6 to 14 years old. Magazine topics include articles about the outdoors, science, and sports. "Boys' Quest" also has jokes, puzzles and riddles.

    Magazines for Babies and Toddlers

    • "Disney & Me" is recommended for children ages 2 to 6 years old, and includes stories and learning activities. "Wild Animal Baby" features photos and picture stories designed to interest babies and toddlers 12 months to 3 years old.

    Old Favorites

    • "Highlights for Children" has been around for since 1946 and is still in publication. "Jack & Jill" has been published even longer---since 1938.
