Vitamins are imperative for healthy skin. A multivitamin supplement is recommended, but it is also important to incorporate certain vitamins daily in a balanced diet. Foods such as fresh fruits, nuts, dark green vegetables and lean meats are vitamin sources for the best in skin nutrition.

    Vitamin A

  1. Vitamin A is responsible for youthful and smooth skin. If vitamin A is deficient, skin is dry and rough.
  2. B Vitamins

  3. B vitamins are together as a supplement or incorporated in daily diet. The B-complex vitamins maintain skin balance and overall glow.
  4. Vitamin C

  5. Vitamin C fights free radicals and aides in the production of collagen. Deficiency causes large pores and rough skin.
  6. Vitamin P

  7. Bioflavonoids, or vitamin P, restore broken capillaries and cell wall structure. Bioflavonoids are commonly referred to as part of the C vitamins.
  8. Vitamin D

  9. Vitamin D is made on the skin by the sun. Vitamin D regulates skin pigmentation.
  10. Vitamin E

  11. Vitamin E is the chief anti-aging vitamin. It blocks UV rays, prevents age spots and can be applied topically to heal sunburn and reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles.
  12. Vitamin K

  13. Vitamin K heals damaged skin on the face and body. Signs of deficiency can be detected if skin bruises easily.
