- Fort Jackson is in South Carolina. It is the largest army basic combat training base in the United States, training 70% of all incoming women and 50% of all incoming army recruits.
- Fort Benning, located in Georgia, is home of the 192d Infantry Brigade. Their mission is to conduct basic combat training for the U.S. army.
- Fort Sill is in Oklahoma. As the only active U.S. army fort built in the southern plains during the Indian Wars, it has been designated as a historic landmark.
- Fort Knox, near Louisville, Kentucky, is responsible for training all armor soldiers.
- Although these four posts are responsible for all United States army basic training, other posts offer specific training, such as officer training, for soldiers who have graduated basic training.

on 8/26/2009 Last I knew a few other bases did Basic as well. Including Ft. Leonardwood, MO.
