Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico is an adventurous city filled with entertainment, varying landscapes and relaxing sites. Acapulco has an authentic, upscale Mexican feeling with all of the modern amenities for vacationers.

  1. Geography

    • Acapulco is located on the Western side of Mexico on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Located in rural Mexico, away from popular city centers, Acapulco is attainable by such highways as Mexico 200, Mexico 95 and Mexico 58. The landscape includes white, sandy beaches, mountainous coastal regions and mysterious forests.

    Lodging

    • Guests visiting Acapulco have the choice of staying in one of the many hotels or vacation rentals in various price ranges and locations. Upscale lodging in Acapulco often is built on oceanfront property, but cheaper options are available more inland. Most hotels feature pools and restaurants, and some offer spa and other special amenities. Some rental properties also offer pools, multiple bedrooms and even spas and entertainment.

    Restaurants

    • Although many Acapulco restaurants are known for their authentic Mexican cuisine, Acapulco as a whole is more of a mixture of dining styles. Popular local restaurants like Pampano and La Cabana are filled with tourists and locals, but guests also may feel more at home with certain American fare. Acapulco also features American restaurants like Applebee's, Hard Rock Café, Planet Hollywood and Hooters and American fast food restaurants like McDonald's, Burger King and KFC.

    Entertainment

    • Aside from walking on the beaches of Acapulco, guests can find entertainment through a variety of activities both on land and in the sea. When guests aren't enjoying a late-night party at a local club, they can watch bullfighting, explore the sea, play golf or go horseback riding or shopping.

    Weather

    • Acapulco has a warm, dry climate nearly all year long. Temperatures often float between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with November to March being the coolest months and May through August being the warmest. Weather trends show that May, July and October through November are the wettest months.
