Accelerated ReaderAccelerated Reader is a program generally in use at elementary and secondary schools. Children choose a book from the AR BookFinder. Once finished, the child completes a series of quizzes on a computer installed with Accelerated Reader. The quizzes consist of Reading Practice, Vocabulary Practice, Literacy Skills and Textbook Quizzes. - Renaissance Learning also offers Home Connect, an Accelerated Reading program available to students at home. Students and parents can log in online to track their progress, review the student's activity, search for additional AR books and more.
- Using the ATOS Readability Formula, based on information from 30,000 students reading nearly one million books, Accelerated Reader assessed the appropriate reading levels for each book. ATOS is used in determining which books align with each user's reading level.

The Reader's EdgeThe Reader's Edge by The Literacy Company is an at-home program on CD for people of all ages and reading levels. The Reader's Edge focuses on vocabulary, word recognition, newspaper reading and also offers reading programs in different languages including Spanish, French, Chinese and Arabic. - Ace Reader is another at-home program designed to enhance and increase reading speed and comprehension. The program comes as a CD to install on a home or business computer and is designed for people of all ages and reading abilities. Ace Reader also addresses eye training and dyslexia in readers.
