The main categories in basketball--the five triple double categories--are considered the most important statistically by many, and the names on the top of these lists make up the upper echelon of NBA career stats and the NBA Hall of Fame.

John Stockton holds the record for most NBA career assists. Playing point guard for the Utah Jazz from 1984 to 2003, Stockton accumulated 15,806 assists.

Wilt Chamberlain dominated the league in rebounding in his career. He snatced 23,924 rebounds in his time in the league, and he also holds the career record for rebounds per game, at 22.9.

The most blocks in an NBA career is 3,830 by Hakeem Olajuwon. He played for 22 seasons starting in 1984, leading the Houston Rockets to championships in 1994 and 1995.
