There are many different types of chocolate available today; however, milk chocolate has been a favorite for centuries. Chocolate was brought over to Europe where it became an instant delicacy and continued to grow in popularity as factories were built and recipes were made. Milk chocolate may have health benefits to humans as well.

  1. Milk chocolate was introduced to Western Europe as early as the 1600s from Spain, but the world's first chocolate bar was made in 1842 by Cadbury's in England.

  3. Cocoa and chocolate come from the beans that take six months to harvest on the cacao tree, which is native to South America.
  4. Benefits

  5. There have been studies that show that milk chocolate has antioxidants such as catechins that may help fight against heart disease and cancer.

  7. The world's largest chocolate bar, which was made by Nestle in 2006, was 3,020 centimeters long, 1,060 centimeters wide and weighed 2.67 tons.

  9. While there are many different types of chocolate, milk chocolate is defined as consisting of milk solids and at least 10 percent chocolate liquor.
