Leaky pipes can cause a world of problems, from water damage to an inflated water bill. If you have pipes around your house that you know are leaking and have been neglecting, there is no better time to address the issue than the present.

    Considerations

  1. Pipes often leak behind walls, under sinks or in other areas that people may not notice until there is a considerable amount of resultant water damage.
  2. Identification

  3. Depressions in ceilings and floors, soft drywall areas and rotting wood may all be indicators that there is at least one leaky pipe somewhere in the vicinity.
  4. Time Frame

  5. Pipes can leak for hours, days, weeks or even months before the damage is noticeable; by then it is often a difficult and expensive problem to remedy.
  6. Warning

  7. Fixing a leaky pipe is best left to the professionals, as even the most well-intentioned amateur handyman can easily make a leaky pipe into a much bigger problem.
  8. Prevention/Solution

  9. Calling a plumber as soon as you notice or suspect a leak in a pipe at your home or business can save hundreds of dollars in pipe replacement and water damage repair.
