What Is an Air Sipper Valve?
A toddler galloping joyfully through the house with an open cup of juice is fraught with danger. Give yourself one less spill to worry about by adding a top fitted with a child-friendly sipper valve.
-
Types
-
A sipper valve is a silicone or rubber spout that fits snugly into a specially designed lid for a child's drinking cup, but it isn't a bottle nipple. Some lids screw on, snap on or have handles built into the sides. The valve can be removed for cleaning.
Function
-
When your child drinks, applying pressure to the spout, the valve opens. As soon as the drinking stops, the valve closes. Leaks and spills are prevented.
-
Potential
-
Babies and toddlers can transition from bottle or breast to a cup with a sipper valve. Using the spout is a step toward drinking out of a cup with no lid.
