Ciao, everyone! My name is Lilly, and I am the founder and writer for Genuine Glow, a blog about green beauty and wellness. I was born and raised in Italy, and although writing has been a passion of mine since I was a child, I would never have expected that a few years ago I would become bold enough to write in English. Passion can motivate you to move past your limitations!

I started Genuine Glow to share my interest for green beauty and personal care products, which goes along with my interest for a whole foods-based diet and, more generally, a healthy lifestyle. I began to explore the world of green beauty (or, as it is more commonly called, “natural/organic” beauty) about six years ago after I stumbled upon an article about mineral makeup that shed light on the effects of harsh preservatives in cosmetic products.

From there, I continued searching for related information and found that I had been putting a lot of chemicals on my skin. If only I had known about these chemicals and how they could affect my skin and health before I used them. With these findings it became apparent that my lifestyle needed to change and a good beauty routine was the first place to start since I had neglected some of the most important aspects of it.

Thankfully, my involvement in the green beauty community has helped me discover several cosmetic companies that are not only committed to using the best and safest ingredients available in nature, but are also strongly committed to creating effective products, sometimes using very advanced technology. The saying that “natural/organic products are not as effective as conventional ones” has become a myth.

I cannot wait to introduce you to all of my favorite skincare, personal care, and makeup products and to share the tips that I have learned over the past few years. A presto!
