Kicking Off A Kitchen Remodel

When 2011 was coming to a close and New Year’s Eve began quickly creaping up on me, I started to think long and hard about what my home resolution would be for 2012. After dedicating the past two years to revamping my 1960s ranch home, there was really only one major project left to tackle: the kitchen. So at the stroke of midnight, a kitchen remodel was officailly set into motion – and you get to tag along for the entire ride.

So where to begin? With the before photos of course!

Oh, the before photos. What an embarrassing sight my kitchen was. With ancient appliances, pink laminate countertops and dark cabinets giving the entire room an air of calustrophobia, my kitchen was long overdue for a face-lift.

To make matters worse, the walls were covered from floor to ceiling in a wallpaper print straight from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” — you know the edible wallpaper scene I am talking about: “The schnozberries taste like schnozberries!”

No matter how you slice and dice it, I think we can all agree this is one kitchen that could stand for a little TLC and I’m glad to have you along for every twist and turn of this complete kitchen overhaul. Stay tuned!
