When I was on the house hunt a little over a year ago, I was searching for a true diamond in the rough. I really wanted something I could put my own stamp on, so I knew from the get-go that the master bath in my purchased home would need a complete makeover. Not only did the dated tile and unsightly wallpaper leave me less than enthused, but both the plumbing to the toilet and the shower pan were leaking, leaving the bath virtually useless without a major overhaul. So overhauling I am!
One stop along the way involved deciding what to do with the bath linen closet — a great space for storage that still left room for major improvement. To make this small bath feel as large as possible, the plan was to do away with the closet door and create an open, contemporary linen nook.
So with demo well underway, the next step was to box in the closet with sheetrock.
Followed with a little primer and paint, I then topped it off with three wooden shelves stained a rich chocolate brown. The perfect contemporary linen nook! All it needs to complete the look are a few white towels and baskets for storage.
