Classic Martini

Makes 1 drink

3 ounces gin, such as Hendrick’s
1 ounce dry French vermouth, such an Noilly Prat
Few dashes aromatic bitters
Lemon twist, to garnish

Fill a mixing glass with ice.  Add the gin and vermouth to the glass and stir until the glass feels cold, 10 to 20 seconds.  Add the bitters and stir to incorporate.  Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist.  Serve immediately.
